Look now, some of you guys must try this thing called “lighten up.” Why did I get sour feedback from some of you about me expressing publicly, that my ring was fake (up until the new one I got over the weekend)?

You know that’s not something I’ve kept secret!

My husband and I tell a lot of what’s considered “ugly” when it comes to us and our marriage—and it’s for people out there being put to shame over an imperfect life.

We are not perfect.
You (reading this) are not perfect (no, you’re not).
NO ONE you even know, or will ever know (outside of Christ), is perfect.
So why would we ever think our lives and relationships would be?

We don’t have to hide our imperfections, let us allow God to get the glory out of them.

I talk more about the whole “she told everybody her (old) ring was fake!” ordeal in the video below.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (ESV):

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” THEREFORE I WILL BOAST ALL THE MORE GLADLY OF MY WEAKNESSES, SO THAT THE POWER OF CHRIST MAY REST UPON ME. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Disclaimer: We are—in no way—saying people should get married despite financial instability. We are saying, if you did that…and you’re already married, stop beating yourself up about it and let God use you and your situation for His glory.
